Remember that stimulus bill that was signed when the economy went down the drain and we went into recession? The government decided it was a good idea to bail out financial institutions and billions of dollars was set aside for use on public projects and job creation programs to stimulate economic growth. Did it work? The jury is still out, but there are folks in better shape today than they were two years ago because of it. There are also a number of homeowners and commercial building landlords who benefited from that bill. Are you one of them? Do you know how you can be?
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, known to most Americans as “The Stimulus Bill” contains a provision that requires the United States Treasury to give out what are known as 1603 Grants to home and business owners who make improvements to their respective structures that include any use of renewable technology. Created mainly to encourage development in solar energy and wind power, these grants are also available for natural gas conversions and HVAC installations, if they fit the criteria. The 1603 program provides, according to their own definition, “Payments for Specified Energy Property in Lieu of Tax Credits”.
The exact eligibility of a Potomac home or business owner needs to be discussed with your installer and the person who prepares your taxes. There are also tax rebates available on both the state and federal levels and you may be able to take advantage of a manufacturers rebate on top of all of that. Add in our discounts and already low rates and any home or business owner can afford a new system this year. The ARRA is set to expire at the end of 2011 after already getting one extension, so applying for the 1603 program now if you’re eligible is a good idea.
What does an HVAC company have to do with a renewable energy treasury grant? Our goal is to provide you with the most affordable and environmentally safe heating and air conditioning systems available. If you’re going to upgrade the HVAC unit in Potomac, consider the Geothermal heating option that still conveys a 30% tax credit based on the total project price with no cap*( please consult your tax advisor ). An energy efficient Geothermal heating system could be an excellent investment choice, as it will pay dividends year after year in the form of reduced utility bills.
You’ll have to wait until our next post to hear about tax incentives and rebates that are available from state and federal government. Today, we’d like to highlight all of the other incentives that should entice you into installing a new HVAC system or at least servicing the old one. If you live in Bethesda or are managing a commercial property in our service area, you’re eligible for our discounts and service plan specials, both of which are fairly significant. You may also be able to cash in on manufacturers rebates.
Ask yourself why you’d want to upgrade to a new heating or air conditioning system. Eliminate cost from the equation for a moment and make a list of pros and cons for having new equipment handling the heating and cooling of your home. Is new equipment more reliable? Will you pay lower electric and gas bills if your HVAC is brand new? Will your home be warmer in winter and cooler in summer? If you’ve answered yes to all of these, you have all the incentive you need to upgrade your Bethesda HVAC.
Now you can look at cost. How much will installation set you back? You’ve probably always imagined that central heating and air conditioning was expensive, but it’s more affordable than you think. Even without the tax rebates and subsidies that we’re not going to talk about in this post, the actual cost of purchasing the equipment and having us install it will be more than compensated for by the savings on your utility bills over the next few years. That’s some pretty healthy incentive for new equipment.
What else can we say? As an installation and repair specialist for heating and air conditioning systems, we offer service plans for as little as $9.00 a month and service calls for just $79. Even better, we’ll apply those seventy-nine dollars to the cost of any repair we need to do, so if you have a problem the service call is basically free. Does that count as incentive? We think it does, and so do all of the folks that have taken advantage of our low, low prices over the years. Give us a call. There’s more we’d like to tell you about, including information on those tax rebates we didn’t mention.
Since it’s now April and we’re catching a glimpse of warm weather, we thought we’d post this title as a reminder that servicing your air conditioning before summer is not something you have to put off because of price. Here at Donmar we offer some of the most affordable prices in our industry, and service calls are not something we charge extra for. If you have a plan with us for AC Service in Rockville MD, you can pay as little as $9.00 a month. If you need us for an isolated service call, we’ll charge $79 for the call but apply that amount to the cost of the repair we do for you, so basically the call is free if something is wrong.
It’s the time of year when you want to have your air conditioning checked out. Too many homeowners put it off until the last minute and end up suffering through the first few hot days while waiting for a technician to show up. We are available seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day, so you can avoid the wait by calling us, but why have even an hour of discomfort on a hot day? Let us take a look at your system now and you can avoid a repair or service call in June or July when you need that AC unit to work.
We appreciate the Rockville homeowners who have chosen to do business with us over the years. Each of our customers is important to us and our technicians develop strong bonds that last for many years. Heating and air conditioning are constant needs for the entire time you own your home, so you’ll get to know our people well once you’ve contacted us for your repair and installation needs. We’ll sit down with you on our very first visit and go over sensible service schedules or recommend new installations or upgrades, always keeping in mind that you need to keep costs down.
What else do we have to offer? We can show you how to take advantage of a $1500 energy tax credit currently available, offer another $1500 OFF with manufacturer rebates and discounts, and we do FREE in home estimates. We’re currently offering $100 OFF New Trane Clean Effects Air Cleaners or New Aprilaire Humidifiers and we accept American Express, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover, while offering Military and Senior Citizens Discounts. Financing is also available on approved credit. Is that enough? We already mentioned we offer the lowest prices in the industry, right? Call us.
The smell of fresh cut grass and a trip to the first tee are right around the corner now. Spring has sprung and winter has once again faded into a not so distant memory. It will come again, and summer is almost here, but for right now you can breathe the warm air of spring and keep your windows open to the world. Days are comfortable, nights are still cool, and life is good. Its times like these when you feel your home along the Potomac is worth every penny you paid for it. Did you feel that way during the winter or was it too cold and drafty? If it was, you’ll suffer in summer also.
Homes along the Potomac need heat and air conditioning. Here in the mid-Atlantic portion of the country we still have four seasons a year. One is very cold and the other can be extremely hot. If you don’t have the heating and cooling systems to handle those temperature swings you’ll be uncomfortable for at least half of the year. If you have a sub-par system or a home that is poorly insulated, you’ll not only have drafts or hot spots in your house, but you’ll pay higher electric bills. That’s where Donmar can help you. We can either install a new system or fix the old one. You’ll have to do the installation yourself. We can recommend someone who can help with that.
Chances are, if you’re reading this, you’re at the very least contemplating a change in your heating or air conditioning system. Maybe the old unit isn’t performing well and you’re looking for answers, maybe its time for a new system, or maybe you’re a new homeowner wondering how the old residents lived without air conditioning. Regardless of what your reasons are, you have come to the right place. Give us a few minutes to evaluate your current heating or air conditioning system and we’ll recommend what needs to be done to get better performance.
All utility and fuel bills are higher this year than they were last year, and next year they’ll get even higher. If you have oil heat, you know why. If you have natural gas or electric and are wondering why those are costing more, it’s pretty much because oil prices keep going up. Gas is mined using equipment powered by petroleum and then transported in trucks or tankers that burn diesel fuel. Fifty percent of the electricity you use is provided by coal fired plants, but their costs are still escalating along with rising oil prices. The need for more efficient HVAC systems in Potomac has never been more pressing. Call us now so you don’t get swamped with high utility bills this year.
Last summer was brutal, wasn’t it? Those who study climate have seen a trend over the past few decades for temperatures to be warmer in the months of July and August than they were just twenty years ago. The greenhouse effect and shifting tropical zones are bringing us more and more Caribbean style weather and for that you need air conditioning in Montgomery County. If you don’t have it now, you’ll need our help to cool off here in Montgomery County this year. We have the cooling system you want.
Donmar services homes and businesses in Maryland and Virginia. If you own your home or run a commercial building, the responsibility for cooling and heating systems falls squarely in your lap. We understand the pressure that puts on you, the bills you pay every month, and the concerns you have about purchasing new equipment. The decision you have to make is always the same. Do the savings justify the installation cost? Some upgrades are still cost prohibitive. Air conditioning isn’t one of them. If you want to install a new system today, there’s never been a better time to do it.
We’ve written about savings before and we’ve encouraged home and business owners to upgrade before the temperatures begin to rise. Spring is finally here, and everyone wants to enjoy it, but summer is coming shortly and you’ll want to make sure you have the cooling system you need to keep you and your family or employees comfortable. Last year was hot. This year will be hotter. Next year you may not be able to get the subsidies and rebates that are available this year. In fact, with Congress deadlocked in endless debate and partisan struggles, it’s unlikely you’ll see any rebates next year.
There are steps you can take to evaluate whether you need a new air conditioning system or not. You can begin by looking at your electric bills from last year. You could also add some insulation. That always helps. While you’re at it, look up the dates on when your last HVAC system was installed or serviced. We’ll come out and inspect the system for you, clean it out, and make repairs if they’re needed, but there’s a good chance that you need a new unit if it’s been a few years. The price is right and the savings for the future will be substantial. There’s never been a better time, so call us.
Are you ready? It’s now almost the end of March and you still have a Gaithersburg home without air conditioning. Are you going to wait until the last minute like you did last year and then hook up those old, dirty fans again? All you’re doing is blowing hot air around when you do that. You know it, your family knows it, and the excuses for not installing air conditioning are not holding water anymore. The installation costs are low enough now for anyone to afford a new HVAC system in Gaitherburg and you get tax rebates and discounts from us, your installer. What are you waiting for – another heat wave?
Once upon a time, it was really expensive to install central air conditioning and no one was doing it. Today, the manufacturers are creating systems that are cheaper in price and more energy efficient at the same time, making them more affordable. Once you install, these systems pay for themselves over time because the savings on your electric bills will more than cover the initial installation costs. Add those savings to tax rebates and the discounts we as your installer can offer and you can’t justify not installing air conditioning this year. You definitely can’t use price as an excuse.
How many summers have you been through with either no air conditioning or a sub-par cooling system? The latter is worse because you’re paying the electric bill for it. You’ve no doubt noticed that the cost of running your home in summer and winter is higher than it is in spring or fall. It’s easy to understand in winter with rising fuel costs, but why is your electric bill skyrocketing every July? Sure, you turn the AC on a few days in June, but that hardly seems to justify that $100 spike. What can you do to change that?
There are two areas to address when your utility bills are too high. One is the type of power you have in your home. Oil burners can be replaced with natural gas or solar panels. The other area is your equipment. Older appliances, water heaters, furnaces, and HVAC systems consume more electricity. Give us a call and we’ll come by to check them out for you. Our technicians are in Gaithersburg every day, so it won’t inconvenience us to stop by. It could be that you only need a simple repair or cleaning and you’ll see lower electric bills, or you could need a new system. Either way, we’ll offer you an affordable alternative and a cooler house this year.
Donmar Co., Inc. employes NATE certified technicians to handle all of your air conditioning service needs in Bethesda, MD. Our technicians can quickly get your AC back on line with affordable air conditioning repairs in Northern Virgnia and Montgomery County, MD. Call today for fast AC repair in Great Falls, VA .
Don’t wait until it’s too hot before you make changes to your air conditioning system. It may seem a bit premature to think about summer when the snow is just barely melted away after a brutal winter, but it will be hot before you know it. In recent years we’ve gone from winter to summer with very little respite in between. It’s almost as if spring is slowly disappearing. Keeping that in mind, are you ready for the hot weather? Ready means more than just pulling out the swim suits and sun block. Do you have air conditioning in your Bethesda Home?
If you don’t, you could be in for a long, hard summer. Even if you have air conditioning in Bethesda MD, does it work the way it should? Upgrading now to a new system will give you better performance and save you on utility bills. The new AC units are much more energy efficient than the old ones are. Savings could be several hundred dollars a year.
Do the savings on your electric bill justify the expense of installing a new air conditioner? If you do it now they do. There are still rebates and tax credits available for homeowners that upgrade to central air conditioning.
